Asmin Film Production
Founded in 2009 by Bingöl Elmas, Asmin Film Yapım is an independent production company based in Türkiye.
Since its establishment, it has aimed to make social issues visible, keep collective memory alive, and produce human-rights-oriented content.
Its first international co-production, “My Letter to Pippa”, was created in collaboration with the European culture channel ARTE and French producer Patrice Barrat.
The company also produced the 13-episode documentary series “A Handful of Soil” for TRT Documentary Channel.
Asmin Film’s ongoing project “Vasilis” has been selected for major international platforms such as Docs in Thessaloniki, Dokfest München – Dok Forum, Sheffield Doc Fest – Market Place, and Medimed – Anti Pitch.
The company produced the “Beauty Knows No Disability” campaign documentaries and public spots for L’Oréal Türkiye, and a tribute film for the Stainless Steel Association of Türkiye.
It also organized camera and video workshops for migrant children in collaboration with the Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (ASAM/SGDD).
Bingöl Elmas
She graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. She worked at several national television channels. For eight years, she served at BSB – The Turkish Documentary Filmmakers’ Association, an organization dedicated to professional rights in the field of documentary cinema. During this period, she took an active role in the organization of workshops, conferences, and nationwide documentary screenings.
She was a member of the organizing committee of the International 1001 Documentary Film Festival. She taught for two years at the Documentary Filmmakers’ Association’s Documentary Cinema Workshops held in Anatolian universities, and also lectured at various other documentary workshops.
She has served as a jury member at a wide range of national and international film festivals, including the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, Ankara Film Festival, Film Amed Documentary Festival, Crime and Punishment Film Festival, Women Directors Festival, Istanbul Short Film Festival, Architecture and the City Film Festival, İfsak and Afsad Documentary Film Festivals.
As the founder of Asmin Film, she continues to work as a director, producer, and writer in the field of documentary cinema. With her first film, The Ant of Ajustos, she received the Best Documentary Award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. She was also honored with the Bilge Olgaç Achievement Award at the 19th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival for her contributions to documentary cinema.
